Dual training courses intend to interlink the severely segregated sectors for vocational and academic education. The growing number of dual study courses in the area of initial and further training and the ever more differentiated range of study subjects show that these offerings meet the needs of many new students and those of participating businesses. The Vocational Education and Research Network Association (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Berufsbildungsforschungsnetz - AG BFN) looks at the context between professional requirements, training concepts and recruitment strategies. The volume collects key areas of discussion and relevant empirical findings, as well as theoretical approaches. The aim is to contribute to a stronger foundation for future policy discussions and decisions.
