While there are numerous books describing modern wirelesscommunication systems that contain overviews of radio propagationand radio channel modelling, there are none that contain detailedinformation on the design, implementation and calibration of radiochannel measurement equipment, the planning of experiments and thein depth analysis of measured data. The book would begin with an explanation of the fundamentals ofradio wave propagation and progress through a series of topics,including the measurement of radio channel characteristics, radiochannel sounders, measurement strategies, data analysis techniquesand radio channel modelling. Application of results for theprediction of achievable digital link performance would bediscussed with examples pertinent to single carrier, multi-carrierand spread spectrum radio links. This work would address specificsof communications in various different frequency bands for bothlong range and short range fixed and mobile radio links.
