Against the backdrop of the expected shortage of skilled labourers in particular in the new states the authors investigated the professional and private desires of the "Third Generation East Germany". Based on the results of the interviews sustainable prognoses for dealing with the shortage of skilled labourers and managers in East Germany are developed.
